| New Course Mixed Golf Development Golf Course Master Plans Portfolios FAQs |
Most golf courses are in a continuous state of flux and from time to time require periodic remodeling efforts to remedy a particular problem on the course. Remodeling is usually necessary at some point on most older golf courses or on courses which need to be upgraded. Golf course remodeling is usually undertaken to improve some known deficiencies in the course, to bring the course up to a higher standard, to recapture the prior glory of the course, or to facilitate future expansion. In some cases it is desirable to maintain the original character or design intent of the golf architect during the remodeling process. Many of these original details get lost over the years and can be revived through effective interpretation of the original plans or a knowledge of the original architect's design style. Conversely, as golf technology changes, courses need to be remodeled to accommodate these changes (e.g. greens that are too steep, short landing areas, small tees, etc.). |
